Honda presented the Honda Avancier, its new SUV that presents a coupe aspect in its style and in which the Japanese brand intends to reinforce its image as a manufacturer of vehicles with these characteristics. This is Honda’s new flagship for this segment, as it positions itself just above the Honda CR-V, thanks to its wheelbase of 2,820 mm. It is a full-size SUV with detachable performance, technology and quality. It is the production model that took as the basis the prototype Honda Concept D that was shown last year in Shanghai. It has a dynamic front with full LED lights that look sharp like those of the new Honda NSX. The chrome in your body accentuates your premium aspirations and gives you a higher quality look than your younger siblings. Thus, its two-tone multi-spoke design wheels and its pronounced drop of ceiling give it in the end a coupe style of attractive design. The exterior is completed with the taillights also with LED technology. The interior features a Premium look with leather upholstery and wooden inserts. Highlight the central height of the tunnel between the front seats to bring the center controls and glove compartment closer together as it has a large space between the seats to leave several objects without being fully exposed. It has a tri-zone air conditioner and the rear seats have a tactile screen in the folding armrest. In addition, its design also eliminates all types of levers between the seats, since the parking brake is electric and the gear selector will be very compact. You would not see how the manual gearbox would be integrated in this interior. Few technical details have been given by the manufacturer on this new model, but it is known that it will have a 2.0-liter VTEC turbocharged petrol engine and will certainly also offer a 2.5 liter natural aspiration block for the access version, which has a power smaller and spends a little more fuel, but reliable and has a lower cost. In both mechanics the six-speed manual transmission will be available and if the option is for automatic transmissions, the turbo engine will benefit from a 9-speed while the access version will use a CVT. There are also rumors about a version with hybrid mechanics. The new Honda Avancier will go on sale in late 2016. Like the Acura CDX, it will be exclusive to the Chinese market and manufactured by the joint venture formed by Honda and the local company Guangqi.
