Honda presented the Honda Avancier, its new SUV that presents a coupe aspect in its style and in which the Japanese brand intends to reinforce its image as a manufacturer of vehicles with these characteristics. This is Honda’s new flagship for this segment, as it positions itself just above the Honda CR-V, thanks to its wheelbase of 2,820 mm. It is a full-size SUV with detachable performance, technology and quality. It is the production model that took as the basis the prototype Honda Concept D that was shown last year in Shanghai. It has a dynamic front with full LED lights that look sharp like those of the new Honda NSX. The chrome in your body accentuates your premium aspirations and gives you a higher quality look than your younger siblings. Thus, its two-tone multi-spoke design wheels and its pronounced drop of ceiling give it in the end a coupe style of attractive design. The exterior is completed with the taillights also with LED technology. The interior features a Premium look with leather upholstery and wooden inserts. Highlight the central height of the tunnel between the front seats to bring the center controls and glove compartment closer together as it has a large space between the seats to leave several objects without being fully exposed. It has a tri-zone air conditioner and the rear seats have a tactile screen in the folding armrest. In addition, its design also eliminates all types of levers between the seats, since the parking brake is electric and the gear selector will be very compact. You would not see how the manual gearbox would be integrated in this interior. Few technical details have been given by the manufacturer on this new model, but it is known that it will have a 2.0-liter VTEC turbocharged petrol engine and will certainly also offer a 2.5 liter natural aspiration block for the access version, which has a power smaller and spends a little more fuel, but reliable and has a lower cost. In both mechanics the six-speed manual transmission will be available and if the option is for automatic transmissions, the turbo engine will benefit from a 9-speed while the access version will use a CVT. There are also rumors about a version with hybrid mechanics. The new Honda Avancier will go on sale in late 2016. Like the Acura CDX, it will be exclusive to the Chinese market and manufactured by the joint venture formed by Honda and the local company Guangqi.

For now this update is only available in the Asian versions, but will certainly be extended to the Honda City from here. The launch date of the new Honda Civic is coming to the European market and the Japanese brand has released a series of new official images that allow you to get to know it more deeply. Unlike what happened so far, the new generation of the Honda Civic is a global reach model, so only a few minor modifications differentiate the American Civic from the European. The Japanese brand claims to have been the development program for a more comprehensive global product in its history, which included benchmark tests against some of its main rivals, which encompassed the areas of interior quality, driving dynamics, etc. Regarding its exterior appearance there are no surprises, since the model is similar to what can be found in other parts of the globe, but some details are specific to the European market. The new Honda Civic has larger dimensions than the model it will replace, as it is 30 mm wider, 136 mm longer and 20 mm lower than its predecessor, while the trunk has a capacity of 478 liters.

In the mechanical aspect there are some differences from the previous model, since the chassis has received some adjustments to improve its dynamics. The chassis is 52% stiffer at the same time that a new rear multi-strand suspension is introduced and as an option it can fit adaptive dampers. In addition, the European model receives a more direct and fast assisted steering, which conveys more sportive sensations. The engine offering for Europe includes the new turbo petrol engines, the i-VTEC Turbo in 1.0-liter and 127-hp versions, and a 1.5-liter 180-hp engine, while the 2.0-liter engine is reserved for the Civic Type-R.  The fuel consumption of the 1.0 liter NEDC combined cycle engine is 21.3 km / l, with a CO2 emission level of 106 g / km, while in the 1.5-liter block consumption is 17.2 km / l. The diesel offer retains the i-DTEC 1.6-liter with 120 hp. All of them can be combined with a six-speed manual or automatic CVT-type transmission. The equipment available according to the chosen level of finish can count on an infotainment system with a touch screen of 7.0 inches, Mirror Link, support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and integrated navigation, multiple airbags, sunroof, automatic air-conditioner of two zones, in addition to an extensive line of driving assistance systems that includes adaptive cruise control, traffic signal recognition, collision warning, pedestrian detection, autonomous city braking, etc.

The first new five-door Civics have embarked in the United Kingdom bound for the United States. The tenth generation of the Honda Civic in its hatchback format is produced exclusively at the Japanese brand’s plant in Swindon, UK. With the start of export to the US, Honda took the opportunity to publicize the first official photos of the new Civic hatch. The British plant will concentrate the world production of this version and from there it will go to all the international markets. The United States was the chosen market for its debut, so the first images correspond to the version with American specifications. In the United States will be offered with five finishes: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L and Touring Sport, and with a unique offer of engines, a 1.5 liter four-cylinder turbo, in versions of 174 and 180 hp. The engine can be coupled to both a six-speed manual transmission and a CVT-type automatic. The LX, EX and EX-L will use the 174 hp version and the Sport and Touring Sport, thanks to a less restrictive exhaust system, will use the 180 hp version. Its arrival to US dealers is expected next month, while customers in other markets will have to wait until next year.

Honda has brought many new features to the Paris Motor Show in 2016 and although the Civic Type-R Prototype captured all the attention, one of the most anticipated was the new Civic Sedan, a new addition to the European market that complements the five-door hatch model. It is the same model that we already know from other markets and that in relation to the hatchback, it adds an extended rear and a larger trunk, all in a coupe-like format, with dimensions that places it inside the segment C. Its length of 4630 mm and its 519-liter trunk guarantee a greater habitability compared to the five-door model, while its smaller height puts the focus on the dynamic aspect. The engines offer initially only the VTEC turbo petrol engine of 1.5 liters and 182 horsepower, which can be coupled to both a six-speed manual transmission and another CVT automatic that simulates seven ratios. A diesel engine will be offered later, but power and performance are not yet known. The equipment includes a digital dashboard with 7.0-inch screen, second-generation Honda Connect infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice commands through Apple’s Siri system, application access and integrated navigation system with 3D maps. In addition, it has several driving assistance systems grouped together in the so-called Honda SENSING, which includes, among other things, traffic signal recognition, autonomous braking with impact reduction, blind spot alert, track maintenance, cruise control adaptive, etc.
